The current edition of Pick Me Up magazine (30 September) features the story of Barbara Burke and her son, Steven. Steven was only 17 when he was fatally injured while working as a trainee scaffolder in Manchester.
An incredibly caring young man, Steven had a large circle of friends who continue to keep his memory alive. His parents, Barbara and Barney campaign to ensure that other young people like Steven, don’t lose their lives in preventable accidents.
